Hello, friends, and welcome to a brand new experience in the world of Minecraft news (run by fans) that I am SO EXCITED to bring to all of you. 🙂

Introducing: SnapshotMC

Back in 2009/2010, I was a member of a little organization called Mobile Nations. We wrote daily content for millions of visitors from around the world about the latest news relating to their favorite smartphones, tablets, and watches, and we had a brilliant time doing it. We did so well, in fact, that my former boss actually went on to become a founding team member of The Verge.

Now that I’ve found myself firmly embedded in the world of Minecraft, I realized that there really isn’t anything that fills the same role that my Mobile Nations job did back in the day. Sure, there’s the official Minecraft blogPlanet Minecraft, Minecraft Forum, SpigotMC, various YouTube channels, subreddits, and a dozen other websites… but nothing that really brings all the great content together in one place for people to enjoy.

Especially for content creators and server owners like myself.

Content for Creators

I have found myself, on many occasions over the last year, needing to look up some information about server management, connect with credible build teams and plugin developers, or just learn about all of the stuff happening in the very wide world of Minecraft, and frequently have fallen short.

This game has evolved so much over the years that a lot of content is old and needs updating, while the veterans of the community that were so passionate about their projects in the early years are now starting to slow down and move into other phases of life.

I don’t blame anyone for there being a lack of a central location where content creators can get reliable information about everything they need to succeed, but I do think it’s time to stop waiting and start writing!

What Can You Expect To Find Here?

Oh, my friend. Do we have a lot in store for you here….

  • For starters, SnapshotMC promises to be a place where you can keep up with all the latest news happening with Minecraft and Mojang. Whether that’s new releases, events, and features added to the game, or job opportunities working at Microsoft on the Minecraft team, it’s all up for grabs and you’ll find it here.
  • Next on the list will be Editorials and Interviews (on the Podcast) with content creators, builders, developers, server owners, and maybe even Mojang employees to give you a look behind the scenes at things.
  • Finally, we’ll share various tips, tricks, and tools for Minecraft Content Creators to help boost their chance of success. This might be in the form of a plugin tutorial, software review, hardware recommendations, or even super in-depth coding breakdowns from the experts.

I’m not talking about one or two articles published every other week, either. You’ll soon be seeing daily articles, even up to 3-5 posts every single day, so that you don’t miss a single thing happening.

But That’s Just The Start

In the near future, you will see SnapshotMC expand outside of simply being a place where you can get the latest news. There are a lot of build projects already under way! Here is a short list of a few of them:

Community Forums

Build Team Portfolios
