Anyone who says that Minecraft gamers need to stop playing and go out into the real world don’t understand the positive impact that we can have on people’s lives.

JackMasseyWelsh, owner of Skycade and the JackSucksAtLife YouTube Channel, recently teamed up with another meme…errr… YouTuber, Larry, to raise a few dollars for a great charity in Australia. In return, the community banded together to get $456 AUD sent over to The Smith Family Appeal, and we here at SnapshotMC couldn’t be more thrilled.

It is, in a word, LOVELY.

For a short time, players who purchased the #LarryGang suffix on play.skycade.net were able to contribute to the total amount being donated, and the people came through in droves to show their support for disadvantaged kids in Australia.

“The Smith Family is a children’s charity helping disadvantaged Australian children to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves.”

This is an awesome example of the type of action that the Minecraft community is capable of, and we applaud the efforts of Larry and Jack to bring attention to the cause and sending some much-needed financial support to the charity.

And to think, it all started with a goofy competition between Larry and Barry to see who could get the most subscribers.

Thank you Larry, Jack, and all of the contributing community members who showed what it means to use your influence and reach to act responsibly and care for your fellow humans. Keep up the great work, and GOOD LUCK LARRY!!! #LarryGangForLife
